An essay

I’m gonna write an essay about a very popular musician. His name is Akon. 

Senegalese-American singer Akon was born Aliaume Thiam in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 16, 1973. He has released several hit albums that combine his R&B-style vocals with hip-hop beats, and he has collaborated with many other musicians, including Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson. 

Akon got some criminal history, He once stole a car and got caught. He was sentenced 3 years. As he often claims in interviews that he didn't run a Run a car-Ring or  write his first hit album during a three year prison sentence. He served a few months in jail for the possesion of a stolen vehicle in 1998. He was released when the charges was dropped. 

In 2007, he faced some criminal charges after he threw a fan off stage during a concert in Poughkeepsie,New York.

Beyond his music, Akon is also an owner of two clothing lines, Konvict and Aliaune. He also founded the Konfidence Foundation with the quest of of empowering disadvantaged youth in Africa and the United States.
